COLUMBUS, Ind. – Authorities at the Columbus Police Department (CPD) say a Marion County man armed with a knife supposedly stole a gas station clerk’s car keys and fled in her car early Saturday morning. CPD was called to the Get-n-Go gas station, at 3545 West County Road 450S in Columbus, at around 4:20 a.m., on Saturday.

Officers determined that the gas station clerk was allegedly accosted outside the store by Josey R. Keesling, 29, of Noblesville. The clerk received cuts and lacerations during the struggle with the suspect.

A short time later, the man was spotted by a Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputy on I-65, and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The driver eventually pulled over near the 83-mile marker, where he was taken into custody without further incident.

Keesling was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was remanded on preliminary charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, battery with serious bodily injury, auto theft, intimidation, and resisting law enforcement with a vehicle.
